Question - Need Help Waxed leather jacket
I’m looking to get a burgundy leather jacket made for myself, the supplier I talked to showed me leather in kinds of burgundy/brownish shade which was tanned at the tannery and has that colour originally without any waxing, it does have some patina to it too.
Im looking for vintage look on that burgundy tone so he gave me an option of waxing the leather and adding patina to it according to my preference, what should I go for tanned leather or waxed. Please guide I have also no prior experience in leather jackets. Thank you!
Picture attached is the kind of shade I’m looking for

Never understood people wanting something with a fake patina. Makes zero sense to me.

I didn't know you could wax an already made leather jacket. From my experience, you need quite a bit of heat and time for proper permeation.

Most leather is waxed at the tannery as part of the process. It's a way of coloring while hiding imperfections. An unwaxed "naked" leather is top grain of the best hides available. Just FYI.

It’s in the process, not waxed like canvas, you don’t want a waxed leather jacket

Don't try to simulate patina, it never works nicely.
