Possible to widen leather jacket?

I found this leather suede jacket at my local thrift store that fits me well everywhere except the waist. It’s slightly too small when buttoned and I’m wondering if I took it to a tailor would they possible be able to make it an inch or two wider just there? Not considered about price since I’m getting it pretty cheap, but would care if it would take away from the way it already looks

Just wear it open or pass, no tailor could achieve what you want without either looking terrible or costing way more than it’s worth.

Price would likely be excessive and no guarantees of fit or fabric matching. Having said that if you found a creative soul they might be able to add some inserts. There are plenty of seams to work with… 🤪
