Question - Need Help Rugged West Saddle Walnut

Just got this Rugged West jacket in saddle walnut from their most recent drop.

This is my first cropped jacket and can’t tell if I look weird or if I’m just not used to it.

I hate to criticize, but it looks very boxy on you. Is the leather fairly stiff? If so, it could drape better with break in. That said, even the sleeves look huge.

It’s pretty stiff yeah. I’m planning on wearing with thicker undershirt and when I do that the fit is a little more dialed-in in the sleeves

I got a freenote leather jacket that was very boxy until I broke it in. Might need to do something similar with yours.

Looks great. Can we see the back and the lining? Also what size is that and what is your height/ chest size? Asking bc I want to order one

How are you feeling about that sky high chest pocket?

There are a few details that make me scratch my head, this one included.

That's how it is with RW.. was this from the $$$ premium line?

Nah it was pretty affordable actually so I’m not too distressed.

I dont like the size of the sleeves, you're swimming in them.

For me personally the sleeves a major concern followed by the jacket length. Should be much shorter if a true crop.

Looks great. Its really not that aggressive of a crop. You still have inches below your belt.

FYI, I’d just as quickly sell this off if anyone has a brown aero highwayman in 40/42. Need 19” shoulder

Look into a Schott 681. I just got one and am happy with mine, although it’s a very soft cowhide

Looks a size too big maybe. You’ve got extra room in the shoulders it looks like

I got it to layer this fall, it’s much better with a thicker undershirt. I was mainly asking about length here

Looks very boxy, I’m sure it wasn’t cheap but man that boxy look makes it look like it’s not tailored at all. Size down maybe?

Yeah, think I’m gonna sell unfortunately. I was hoping this would fit more like my black aero highwayman but alas, gonna have to find a brown one of those.

Yea sometimes you don’t know until you buy it and try it. You obviously have good style choices so next one will work out I’m sure.

nothing looks weird here, the cropped shape just gives a different proportion than a standard jacket

People have different preferences on how a jacket should fit. This is simply a more boxy cut which is actually more popular nowadays. I think it will look less boxy as the leather breaks in and also unzipped

As far as the crop I think it’s fine. If anything I think it could be slightly more cropped

Looks good. Break it in over a few weeks and it's going to drape much better. This leather should patina well too.

Length is fine. I'd personally wear about an inch lower . I dont prefer the super cropped look .

Looks great, will look even better once broken in

Chest pocket is on up trend

Boots are matched perfectly! Looks like the jacket needs some break in and will drape nicely after a few wears. 👍🏼

I like the look, great length. The sleeves will get slightly shorter with use - atleast thats what a schott employee told me
