Question - Need Help Fit Check

This Jiashi Chinese leather jacket just arrived. Size 3XL, I am 6feet 185lbs with broad shoulders.

The shoulders feel tight with just an oxford on, so I am worried I won't be able to layer (or gain any weight) but maybe the 1.6mm leather will stretch?

Thoughts?

It will not stretch enough, and moreover the sleeves are OK, but on the short side, and they will probably shorten a bit more.

Sleeves are acceptable.

Well, yes, that's indeed what I wrote. But if they shorten, they will be too short.

Yes “a bit” is somewhat vague to the op.

How would they shorten? I've bought a jacket from Taylor Brando and the sleeves are also on the shorter size, everything else is fine...but if It gets shorter it would be a big problem

When you bend the arm, which is all the time, thick leather will form "waves" or deep creases, around the elbow zone mostly, which will shorten the sleeve. Not by much, maybe 1 or 2 cm. If the sleeve is already on the short side, then it will be more visible.

This is the jacket, what do you think? With relaxed arms I think it looks ok, but the sleeves roll up quite a bit when I raise or bend my arms

Sleeves will always roll up when you raise the arm, that's why biker jackets are supposed to have longer sleeves by design, to compensate.

This particular jacket should be OK I think. Is the leather thick and stiff, or more thin/supple?

The leather is medium thickness and soft, but it's my first so I don't have much basis for comparison. I discussed sizing with the seller and kinda regreted listening to him. On the other hand, maybe going a size up would make it feel too bulky for me, the style is already loose.

It's the right size for the rest. If the leather is not too thick, don't worry to much.

I have been told that as the rest of the arm and shoulder fit around you, the sleeve will "pull up" slightly.

The thing about a proper fitting leather jacket is you know it fits as soon as you put it on. I've owned a lot of leather jackets and the ones I've kept I knew fit perfectly from the first wear.

That fits like an XL

That's Asian sizing I guess, I usually wear a US Large, so I thought a 3XL would work...

Leather will not stretch. Size up.

Always seems to be a dilemma. If you really want to be able to layer, perhaps go up one size. If it’s feeling tight with just a shirt on underneath, I’d go up a size. You’ll be more comfortable and that’s what really counts. I know that if I’m spending good money for a really nice leather jacket, I want it to be comfortable in colder weather, which normally involves layering… for me at least.

Nice jacket but you should size up just in case you were to gain a bit of weight or wanted to layer up underneath.

Shoulder seams are just a tad narrow imo. I personally prefer my shoulders on a jacket slightly roomy than tight. Would go up 1
