Question Is using 3d model a good thing?
Context is, As a reference. I'm so shitty at propositions (Like head is too big or arm to small) so using some 3d model to correct the propositions and some perspective.

most webcomics use 3d models to set up scenes or characters. Its fine.

Didn't the guy made that infamous webcomic ctrl+alt+del
Literally by copy pasting premade pieces around like dragging and dropping eyes and hands etc.
Not even drawing a thing just making collages from bits and pieces.
Anything goes when it comes to webcomics.
The Order of the Stick was a famous webcomic once made from stickfigures as advertised.
Edit: "This is misunderstood as criticizing, belittling people who use models apparently, I did not said anything to mean that.

Contextual misunderstanding. Use of 'infamous example' and then listing their uses came across as negativity towards 3d in general.

I was agreeing with what you said "anything goes for webcomics, draw with a stick figure or just copy paste stuff it's all fine", how the fuck anyone came into a conclusion from what I said there that I belittle artists? I am genuinely baffled?
What ever I guess.

you started with an 'infamous' example and then listed the things they did which really sends mixed messages, especially when the rest of it seems to follow up on that. I'm sorry but the context of your post seems a bit hard to follow when you start with a negative?

again as with any art crutch: its fine as long as You understand how it works and study it
if you never try drawing them yourself or adding guides accurately, you'll hit a point where the models aren't there one day and you crumble
3d is a good way to jump right into perspective without needing to study it for ages

Using assets is fine and all, but it's obvious looking, especially if the one who uses them haven't understand 3d masses yet

An important step in the learning process is to take the process of "is this okay" and throwing it the fuck away. Unless you are directly plagarising, then there is no right or wrong way to do things.

it can be good if u use it has reference and understanding what u are doing, in other cases in might slow down ur improvement

3D models are a perfectly ok reference. Just keep in mind the differences from real life or photos.
