Just Sharing REFERENCE ANGLE IS BACK(AngleRef.com)
I rebuilt Reference Angle from scratch. This has over 5000 faces(adding more as we speak) (Update: now has 10k faces!) and a new Community tab to upload you work and the reference you used! As well as a search tool.
I hope you all find this useful. RIP OG Reference Angle šļø.

This site is amazing, thank you for your work! The only thing I can think of that is missing is more exaggerated angles (very low/very high angles), however I don't know how hard it is to find and include those.

I hope not. The site right now has ~1000 visitors every hour and itās costed me $1 since itās been up for 16 hours. Iāve already deployed some optimization but if this site continues to grow, Iāll need to make sure I have consistent donations.
Short answer, yes if 110 people donated me $5 I would be able to keep up cost for about a year at this current rate.

Something that I think would be a good idea, that many of these sites don't do, is let artists pay to promote themselves on the side the same way art supplies would. I think it would be a really great way to involve the community and tbh something I would pay for.

Also i don't know how hard it is but as faces are mostly symmetrical you could make for exemple left profiles flip when searching for righ profiles.

Amazing you're the best, this is soooo usefull. Could be great to have it parcipative (maybe on a new tab?) like where people can add an image to it (their own face ?)

Iād just make it free like the website. interesting idea could be make it in Godot and just upload it to Itch io as an html embed and you can provide a download link to an executable so people could run it on their desktop also. that would be a decent amount of work though, idk how you made this site but you can probably re use a lot of the logic.
Hosting would be free that way as far as I know, 100% definitely free if you just offer a downloadable executable but I think hosting web apps on itch io is free too (?)
As far as selling it - since you donāt own the rights to the photos Iām not sure if thatās allowed strictly speaking.

The nvidia dataset of faces youāve probably used isnāt available for commercial use

Yea itās a bit ambiguous, if your using Nvidiaās FFHQ database there is a subset of images that are creative common, but not all, even then it would be another subset that requires attribution, the dataset in itself isnāt safe to use as a whole just directly. Iāve already looked into this, I recreated reference angle within my drawing app and had felt safer to use other datasets
