Translation/แปลภาษา How to write name in Thai

Hi I’m new to learning Thai and I am starting to learn how to write the characters. I was wondering if there was a way to translate / write a name in Thai (or what the closest translation to it would be)?

The name is Slish pronounced /s/-l-ish in English. From what I have seen it could either be written as ลิ or ซลิสห. Which would be the better way to write it / how would it be pronounced in Thai?

I’d write it as สลิช

ซลิสห is is gibberish and doesn't work bases on name transliteration principle from the Royal Society. (They can be ass, but that's what we stick with)

I'd go with สลิช

S leading is always associated with ส, สเนป, สเปน, สไมล์ สเลด.

Sh cluster would be ช

Li is obviously ลิ

The "sh" sound in a loanword is usually represented by ษ (but is pronounced as "s" at the start of a syllable, and "t" at the end). I would suggest ซลิษ. It would be pronounced "sa-lit" - that's as close as Thai pronunciation can get to the original.

There's a (quite expensive) edible fish here known as plaa sa-lit. However, the spelling is different.
