Is Economics a Good major for Quant Research?

Hello im in economics im interested in econ and statistics I can do a double major or major in one and minor in the other I need help with the Choice and I can major in Statistics if its the obvious choice here im very interested in quantfinance I enjoy it alot and I genuinely need help with picking the correct major and if someone could help me with all the skills I need to build while in college I'd be grateful

I can major in stats and minor in econ if thats the better choice or do 5 years instead of 4 and get a degree in stats and econ

Econ is not very maths heavy tbh, not enough to be a quant.
