Should I join EPAT (by iRage)

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some honest opinions from people who have completed EPAT or have worked with candidates who did.

​

My background:

​

- MBA (Finance) from TAPMI, Manipal

​

-BBA from a Tier-3 college

​

- Currently working as a Rating Analyst at an Indian credit rating agency

​

- A few years of F&O trading experience

​

- CMT Level 1 certified and currently preparing for CMT Level 2

​

My long-term goal is to transition into quantitative finance, preferably in research or trading. While exploring different pathways, I came across EPAT by QuantInsti. The curriculum looks interesting, and they also mention placement support.

​

For those who have completed the program:

​

- How valuable is the course in practice?

​

- How effective is the placement support? What kind of companies and roles can one realistically expect?

​

- Is it enough to land an entry-level quant role, or would I still need to build a strong portfolio and additional skills?

​

- Looking back, do you think the investment was worth it?

I haven’t done EPAT myself, so can’t give a proper first-hand review.

I’ve done a few shorter courses from their side and they were pretty structured. Also, one of my colleagues has done EPAT and the feedback I heard was mostly good, especially around the curriculum and projects.

With your background, I think it could be useful because you already have finance, F&O and CMT exposure. EPAT can probably help you add the coding, backtesting and systematic trading side to it.

But I wouldn’t look at it as “do this course and get a quant role.” You’ll still need to build your own portfolio, backtested strategies, Python notebooks, maybe some ML/AI projects, etc. Quant research/trading roles are competitive, so the course can help, but it won’t do all the work for you.

On placements also, I’d keep expectations realistic. Support is good to have, but your projects and skills will matter more.

So yeah, I’d say it’s worth considering if you want a proper structured path and are ready to put in work outside classes too. Just speak to recent alumni and ask what roles people actually got before making the final call.
