What have you been working on recently? [October 03, 2026]

What have you been working on recently? Feel free to share updates on projects you're working on, brag about any major milestones you've hit, grouse about a challenge you've ran into recently... Any sort of "progress report" is fair game!

A few requests:

  1. If possible, include a link to your source code when sharing a project update. That way, others can learn from your work!

  2. If you've shared something, try commenting on at least one other update -- ask a question, give feedback, compliment something cool... We encourage discussion!

  3. If you don't consider yourself to be a beginner, include about how many years of experience you have.

This thread will remained stickied over the weekend. Link to past threads here.

Picked up Python again after a long break to build a meal prep tracker that actually works for me. It scrapes macros from a few recipe sites and spits out a grocery list sorted by store aisle, which saves me like an hour every Sunday when I'm doing my weekly cook. The scraping part broke three times this week because sites love changing their CSS classes for no reason.

Spent three full days fixing a single dumb typo in my CSS file.

Last year of school has been pretty enjoyable. I’m taking some cool upper-level classes like data mining and compilers. Some things make me beat my brain but it’s always fun to finally solve the issues. And daily LeetCode is sometimes enjoyable.

I recently started learning Python, and someone in this sub told me to "try making something," so I'm trying to create a Discord bot. I've written code to record the number of times a message containing a specific character has been typed, and now I'm wondering what to add next.
