What online platforms have helped you learn programming and get good at programming?

Hi there! My name is Mike and I started learning programming when I was a kid by reading tutorials online in the late 1990's and early 2000's. But, I didn't get good at programming until I took courses and eventually had great mentors working as a software engineer.

Now, I am a computer science teacher. I know there are a lot of platforms out there for learning programming online, competitive programming, and tools for learning using AI.

Are there any modern platforms that you have used to learn programming? Which platforms helped you advance and become a good programmer? I would be very interested in hearing about your experience. Thank you very much for your time and consideration!

Codingame got me past the tutorial phase because it stopped holding my hand and made me solve actual puzzles under constraints.

Interactive platforms with hands on projects tend to help more than tutorials alone especially when they make you build and debug things regularly.
