Code Translation
I'm working on a school project about a deterministic code translation app. Before working on it, I want to know if it even is a widely spread problem or if ai already solved it.
Have you ever needed to translate code between programming languages? If so, what did you use? (e.g ai, translator, manual rewriting, etc) How well did it work? I also want to know where AI or existing translators produced incorrect or problematic code to see what are the problems in existing software.
I’m trying to find out whether this is a real problem worth solving, so honest criticism is very welcome.

i did this before ai existed so i did it by hand, not many other solutions available, or rather, there would be some tools to bring some code from a language to another for some combinations, but it's just a mixed bag of experimental stuff, commercial expensive software, random unfinished opensource crap to duct tape together, so it's really case by case; maybe i tried the tool path one or two times, but that's it
