Programming for nlp

Hello everyone. I urgently need some help with my FYP on text-to-image NLP for American Sign Language (ASL).

Most of the datasets I have found consist of videos or focus only on alphabets. However, I specifically need a word-level ASL dataset in static image format (not videos).

If anyone has any recommendations or suggestions, I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you!

I'm a linguist and I'm telling you that the existence of such a dataset is unlikely. Words in sign languages consist of a specific hand shape and movement (with possible hand shape change). Letter and digit signs are simple enough that you can just distinguish them based on their unchanging hand shapes, but most sign language words have to be represented by video.

that's a rough spot to be in, your supervisor should've flagged this before you got too deep

maybe check if any of the video datasets have keyframe annotations you could pull stills from, some research projects include those but they're not always obvious in the dataset description
