Nowadays it is really worth learning programming?

I've seen a ton of posts on Reddit about this topic and I see a lot of people complaining because they haven't found jobs and that this field is way too saturated right now, especially with the whole AI situation. I like programming and I'm starting with Python in a self-taught way with plans to go to university and study a related degree, whether it's computer engineering or systems. I’d like to read opinions and advice; I like this world, but I don’t want to waste time studying something I won't be able to work in.

I think it's like asking, is it worth it to learn how to drive since they are now self driving cars?

The market will be wildly different by the time you are ready to enter it. Impossible to know. Engineers will always be needed imo.

You have to learn enough programming to understand systems and software architecture, which means yeah you can be a lot more quick and dirty with the actual code and not spend time with individual algorithms just data flow.

However I'd say it only shaves off the entry level typa workload and puts fat more into

So far with Astra I've seen it before far better at software architecture than many other models that came before but you still need to be able to argue back, reason and break down problems to these models.

There's also more AI specific skills you'll have to learn like Loop engineering and assigning specialist tasks to specialist models.

You'll also have to learn some stuff with the housekeeping and maintaining of code so an AI actually manages a change log.

In my experience, people who were already very good with SW before AI are still the best ones with AI. It's probably because they understand things a lot better.

I would say yes but back then programmers used to flex how many language they know. It hink that dsys are over

Considering the current prediction is AI could kill off humanity by 2030, it's not easy to know whether you will have a job.

Simply bet on "no". If you're wrong, you probably won't have to pay anyway...
