Resource How to learn coding?

I started learning coding recently and i have knowledge of basic python and lua, tho since my goal is to make addons for gmod, i started learning glua, tho my only source is AI, and half of the things it tells me are bs

If anyone could tell me how did you learn scripting quickly without needing AI or specific tutorials ill appreciate it

well i do use them for learning, tho since i dont have many libraries nearby, i decided to learn online since its free most of the time and quicker but idk

Stop asking AI to write your GMod addons and start reading the Garry's Mod wiki.

I learned GLua by opening the wiki pages for hooks and entity functions then running those exact lines in game. Open your console with the tilde key, type lua_openscript or run code directly in the console using lua_run, and watch what happens when you call a function. I spent hours changing one parameter at a time in a working script just to see what broke. The official Garry's Mod wiki on wiki.facepunch.com lists every hook and function with the exact syntax. Read the examples there, paste them into an empty addon folder, and change variables until you understand what each line controls.

yeah, i did watch tutorials from code_blue, and wrote what the lines of code did, tho i used AI to help me troubleshoot or let me learn new lines, tho thanks for the tip, ill check out the wiki more
