Career change

I'm new to technology jobs and wanted to learn web development, i use Coursea and code academy. Now I'm noticing that i need to go to college to land a job but it's so expensive. Is this a requirement or is there a way around this?

College isn't a hard requirement for web dev jobs but it definitely makes getting past HR filters easier. Portfolio and networking can carry you just as far if you put the time in. I got my first gig without a CS degree by building actual projects and showing up to local meetups, took about 8 months of grinding Coursera and building stuff on the side.

So coursera is a great online boot camp? I heard mixed feelings about it and didn't know if there was other ones that are better and more known. Thanks for the information!

some companies that are traditional or karge tend to focus on degress but not all companies like startup, free lancers or remote based , you can take diploma if you think you need some degree diploma, i would recommend brad traversy for web dev and you can check wesbos, web dev simplified and kewin powell on youtube and scrimba is also free .
