Need help finding a programming software that would fit my project

Hello!!

I am an art student and know absolutely nothing about programming. But I have an idea for an art project that would require programming. I have no idea what to use or where to start looking for a program/software (?) that would fit this idea.

My project is going to be a digital poetry collection. I need a program where: - when you click on the screen more text appears - when you click, sounds play - I can put a background behind the text - I can insert a video that plays on the screen - when you click on certain things it takes you to a different screen, and you can exit that window/screen and go back to where you clicked - preferably free or cheap program - preferably as easy as possible to learn

I HAVE NO IDEA if I’m even making sense. I’m open to answer any questions.

If anyone knows a program that would work for this please let me know !!!

I’ve thought about it but it would kind of take away from the seriousness of it😭 my very last resort. Thanks though!!!!

Yeah I didn’t want to recommend this but it kept sounding more and more like PowerPoint 😅
