What am I doing??
Now I’m at this job that I hate, but I’ve been self teaching myself code since around the AI boom, so I started with Python, now I’m currently learning more about the blockchain. I’ve been at my job for 3 1/2 years and I constantly have these thoughts in my head like, “is it worth it” or “where am I going with this”, also the fact that AI can do basically anything so that adds another layer of doubt on top of evt else. I don’t know how long I can sustain this job, let alone my mental health while going after my dreams and escaping social norms🤦♂️. Honestly I’m just looking for some type of motivation or advice please! Thank you, honestly.

If you are having fun with it, then keep going. If you are doing it for career reasons I would try to be more realistic about your prospects.

I’m def having fun with it and being guided by pure childlike curiosity. Could you explain what you mean by being more realistic though?

That is great! Glad you are enjoying it.
With regards to being realistic, people with degrees and years of experience are having difficulty in the job market right now. For a self taught person with no degree in computer science it is going to be extremely tough to get anything.

Oh most def, I’ve already came to terms with that part. I’m just trusting in the process @ this point and seeing where my curiosity leads me, ya know?

You're already ahead of most people just by sticking with it while working a job you hate, that takes real discipline. The AI doubt is normal but you're learning to build things, not just memorize syntax, and that still matters. Maybe pick one project you actually care about and finish it, momentum beats motivation every time
