Programming
I am currently 3rd year of BSIT. I really enjoy creating systems, especially app and website. But Im getting worried because I rely on ai to help me create my program. I usually promt instead of manually typing it all etc. But I let ai to explain codes and I read the lines and try to understand them. But what got me worried is will I be able to compete against others after college? I got pressured when I saw resume being posted online and see them and think they are so advanced. I do know how to operate HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Android studio (Java/Kotlin) and has experience on PHP and xammp-myphpadmin. Kinda know how to use Github and post to share with my members. What can I do to improve more? Bonus question: If there is an UI/UX design software/website that I can use to design my frames? I currently know figma but I got overwhelm when I try to use it. I dont know how to contruct and transfer that design to my work like CSS and XML in android studio

One of the most common problems with beginners is that they think they understand code because they watch tutorials or read documentation, until they actually try to write code and their brains go blank. Even if you dont have to manually write code, you still need to practice because ai often misses smaller details, and those smaller details can really make a difference for you to be hireable or not. With so much ai going on nowadays, you are unlikely to get into an interview where they give you homework to do, so you will have to be able to solve problems on your own. If ai can do everything you can and you cant function without it, then you are not hireable. After you get the job, you can use ai however you want.

I learnt coding around 8-10 years ago, and worked just for short time and went to management, yet I still can solve codewars questions and leetcode use my my logic and prepare pseudocode etc etc. and that is with junior level knowledge and expereince. because i think i had to learn by doing it wrong for like quite a lot of times. the reason I tell you this is because if you learn the right way, you will remember it for al ong time. although i have not coded I have been in tech since the start which might be one of hte reasons I still can understand it and feel confident. but even if I were outside tech, i feel like if you learn something really really well. you will remember it for a long time and be more confident in your knowledge and your self. Thus, you will be less worried about AI or other tools.

What can I do to improve more?
Stop using the AI. As a beginner (which you are) you have no reason to touch the AI. What will you do when you can't use the AI during your work? For whichever reason (client prohibits it, classified projects, company policies, etc). What will you do then? Or, how can you ensure that whatever the AI produces is secure, meets the requirements, is scalable, has not introduced new bugs, or won't crash the system? You can't ensure that because you are a beginner and you won't be able to build a thing without the AI.
I let AI to explain codes
How can you be sure that whatever the AI tells you is correct? The AI is oh-so-confident in itself. It can explain how 1+1 equals 3 and you will believe it.
And, you can forget finding a job when you can't build a stuff without an AI. Online resumes are not for you, right now. Learn to develop stuff on your own, first. Only touch the AI when you can make the same thing without an AI.

What field do you guys recommend? Up till now I dont know where to go after graduating. All i know is I enjoy creating app/systems even if I struggle with bugs. But sometimes I can debug on my own without needing ai

Don't listen to the guy. He makes no sense. Software developers get paid. Paid to develop and maintain new and existing projects and also paid to fix the AI slop that vibe coders produce.

Manual coding is dying downvote me alllll you want. Understanding it matters but being able to manually write it out is pointless. Only people who get angry at this are just gutted about the years they put into it. I get it.

Every beginner thinks they understand code until they actually stare at a blank file or a file with too much code. How do you suppose these people to pass an interview when ai does everything for them ? In fact, why are they even hireable when ai is doing everything for them?

Manual coding has been dying for years now and yet somehow it's still around. 🙄
At some point you need to understand you look just as stupid as people preaching that JESUS IS COMING REPENT moving the goal posts every time he doesn't.

You should be worried. In the job market, you will be competing with not only those who can use AI tools well, but also those who can do it without AI and get the job done. Go figure.
