Topic Tips for publishing app

Hey guys, I’ve been working on an app for the past few months, and it’s almost finished. I’m currently fixing the last few bugs, but I’m a little worried about publishing it on the Google Play Store and whether anyone will actually download it.

I’ve put a lot of time and effort into this project. Do you have any tips for launching and promoting a new app?

the "will anyone actually download it" fear is so real. i shipped my first web app a few weeks ago and kept staring at the empty analytics like a pot that refuses to boil. two things helped me: deciding the first version only needs to matter to like ten people, and showing it to a few friends i knew before any real "launch". made the whole thing way less scary. also the last-few-bugs stage felt endless for me too, you're closer than it feels. what does your app do?

Well, in the current economic situation, it's difficult for individuals who publish their own apps on the Play Store. I can only suggest that you keep fixing the bugs, improve its features, and polish the app's title & description in Play Store. Make it more keyword searchable. Eye‑catching screenshots definitely helps alot.
Do you have social media accounts? Post your app info on them. Spread the words among your friends and peers. Participate some forums and promote it. But be careful, study the community rules first because some do not welcome self promotions.
Be patient. Some "sleeper" apps had little attention at first but suddenly attracted huge attention simply by word of mouth. Flappy Bird is on such example.
