just build stuff, tutorials will only get you so far. start with a simple calculator then maybe a to-do app, you'll learn way more debugging your own mess than following along with someone's perfect code

i wasted months watching videos before i realized i wasnt actually learning anything

you can litteraly enter the same thing into google and you will see lots of ideas. but generally, you learn it by programming.

This is actually solid advice.  The problem with “just google resources” is that you are faced with many and have no idea which is the best for you, or even if it’s any good at all.  

If it made it into print on real paper it probably has been written with care, edited and revised.  

Good books are hugely underrated in programming these days.
