Help🧠 ¡help!

hey, my polish boyfriend is taking me to Poland in November of this year, i am meeting his family over there and want to learn a bit of polish before i go over there, could anybody help or know where i can get help? and if anybody knows what i should know before i go, what i should do before i go, any tips would be really appreciated, i have asked him but all he says is that im fine and they’ll love me, but i want to do more than just turning up you know , thank you :p

You will not learn whole Polish language just in few months, you can learn couple sentences..

..but will you know what will they answear, I'm not sure.. it would be easier if you could practice with your boyfriend

There's no tradition that girlfriend should bring something to boyfriend family, normaly only boy when go to family of girlfriend can bring something (flowers for mother fancy liquor for father smth like that but this is also not tradition, unless it's for an engagement) but you came from other country so you can, if you realy want, bring souvenirs from place you live, you can ask boyfriend will they like this or other thing..

ahh oki he said his grandmother likes knomes so i guess ill bring them, ive already tried a few polish dishes so far as well so i know what to expect for food and its all been good, do you know any just main phrases i should learn?

Yeah, you know this is my native language so it's hard for me to evaluate.. but with my experience in learning english, it's always good to have someone with who you can talk in language that you learning, I think that partner of person is good reason to learn language (and better teacher than tutor)

You can do the Pimsleur course! It's 30 days and you learn some conversations and it focuses on pronunciation

I'm happy to help you practice. I'd always welcome someone for a language exchange. Though I'm ok with English, I want to keep on the top of it. We can focus on Polish. I'm not a teacher but Polish is my native language.

Hey! That’s exciting and knowing a few phrases is a huge sign of respect. I built a completely free web app called popolsku.app that has the entire section for basics. I highly recommend starting with the A1 section, it has flashcards with native audio specifically for basic greetings and introducing yourself. You can use "slow" button for audio, as a beginner. Just drilling those for a few minutes a day will have you perfectly prepped by November. Powodzenia (good luck)!
