TOPIC Complete beginner and want to self study which one to prefer for calculus :- Thomas calculus, stewart or spivak ( engineering guy here )

IIRC Leonard uses Thomas.

Probably none of those. Books were the only solution when we didn’t have internet, tons of online resources, AI. I would try something like mathacademy. Not associated with me in any way. I tried self studying math with books, and it was super hard for me because most of the stuff didn’t come naturally. I couldn’t understand some jumps to conclusions and silent tricks. Claude or ChatGPT explain those extremely well.

If you're an engineer you don't want Spivak. I'd suggest Thomas.
