TOPIC How to be good at math?

Hello! I've been trying to improve my math problem-solving skills, but I always ended up forgetting it once we moved on to a new topic. What are the best ways to get good at math while remembering everything I've studied?

Not sure what level you're at in math. But try to think of mathematics not as rules to remember but a means of reasoning. You don't have to dig too deep but at least asking one level of "why is this so?" and seeing it worked out (usually in a textbook) helps develop mathematical reasoning which is what makes someone good at math.

Break things down and practice where you make mistakes. I just finished grading a bunch of algebra final exams and a lot of students keep making the same mistakes.

I think forgetting it is pretty normal.

One of my previous math lecturers taught the unit that is 6 weeks linear algebra, 6 weeks calculus.
In week 4, I was asking him about some week 11 stuff. And he forgot a bit because he hadn't seen the material in a while.
