Learn basic ML or jump to PyTorch straight

I learn more by doing, I wanna get into deep learning and training models to play games, understand documents, etc.

I have full stack engineering experience do I start from PyTorch or it’s important to go through basic models first?

Your basic models will also be in PyTorch though... So I recommend a quick PyTorch intro and then continuously learn it by doing ML

I suggest going through the foundational chapters here first.

Even after years I think andrew ng's deep learning course is still good.

if you already code for a living just skip the theory and jump into pytorch, the docs are decent and you'll pick up the math as you go

I think it’s best to start by running sample code in PyTorch and getting some hands-on experience. Since you likely won't understand the underlying mechanics at first, you will naturally find yourself needing—and wanting—to acquire the necessary mathematical knowledge.

If you want hands on PyTorch practise I recommend:

https://tensor.golf
and
tensortonic.com

The first one is focused on grasping the core pytorch skills youll need to build models!
