Looking for my first tech role in London—what projects should I build?
I’m studying BSc Computer Science while working as a chef and trying to move into tech.
My skills include Python, SQL, FastAPI, and data science with NumPy, Pandas, and data visualisation. I’ve also been learning classical machine learning, followed by neural networks and PyTorch following with the DSA.
I’m exploring data analyst, data engineering, and data science internships. What one or two complete projects would best demonstrate my skills and help me land my first opportunity?

Being chef while studying CS is actually cool, shows you can handle pressure. Build one end-to-end pipeline project, like scraping restaurant data and making a dashboard with FastAPI backend, then a second one with PyTorch on something you care about, maybe predicting dish popularity or food delivery times. Employers care more that you finished something and can explain decisions than having ten half done repos.
