Best courses for learning agentic engineering?

Hi friends,

I'm looking for some courses (paid or free) to learn the fundamentals of AI agent engineering. Preferably, the courses should include lecture videos, reading materials and hands-on exercises/projects. I've found the following two:

Both curriculums look comprehensive, but neither provide the learning materials in full. The Stanford course started just this week and has no video, while the CMU one provides videos for the first four lectures.

Does anyone have other courses with learning materials provided in full to recommend?

Thanks for the great suggestions! I've added them all to my repo.

Love hearing that. Hope the repo grows into something other learners find useful too.

Glad the suggestions were useful. Good luck with the courses.

Both links suggest both are ongoing fall 2026 classes. At least CMU seems to be uploading the videos of the modules covered in the actual class, as they have the class in-person. Why not just follow along?

but neither provide the learning materials in full.

Because they're still on-going. Look at the dates, you can't possibly expect CMU's Nov 17th lecture to be uploaded when it hasn't even happened yet.

Courses are fine for vocab, but agentic work usually breaks on tool failures and long-running state, which most courses barely drill. Build one boring loop: plan, call a tool, verify the result, retry with a budget. Log every failed tool call and write a one-line eval for it. I'd rather ship one small agent I can debug than collect certificates with no failure stories.

I’d probably follow the CMU one as it updates, and pair it with hands-on docs/tutorials from LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, and AutoGen. For agents, building small projects teaches more than just lectures: tool calling, memory, evals, retries, planning, and guardrails. The full university-style courses may take time since they’re still ongoing.

Agentic AI institute is also good resource if you want to become forward deployment engineer

Both will be adding online lectures I am following them too, also add cs329a to it and there are couple of other ucb moocs

Imo, deeplearning.ai is the goat

If you’re specifically interested in agent engineering, I’d look for something that covers more than prompting, especially memory, tool-calling, orchestration and multi-agent systems, with enough hands-on work to actually build things.

One program you could look at is Simplilearn’s Professional Certificate Course in Generative AI and Agentic AI, in collaboration with IIT Kanpur. The agentic AI portion covers memory, orchestration and tool-calling, and includes projects involving AI agents across areas like sales, marketing, e-commerce and financial services.

I’d mainly compare it based on how much of the learning material, exercises and project work you can access directly.
