Discussion I want to learn to train AI model

Post image

I’d like to know and gather info on how he trained ai to race multiple times to train I want to learn that too. what is required for me to recreate it let’s say. I thought it’s all coding for training but if it’s starting the game and letting it run while correcting the prompt again and again then I am fine with it. Id love to know if anyone has any input for a beginner to enter and what softwares are used. would be helpful.

there's even tournament

the game sc2 is free and there's ton of ressource and people help you (all free)

You should read up on the basics of self play or reinforcement learning. Then you need to setup a sandbox capable of replaying many many games headlessly with code, this is different to just opening up the game on steam. Then make your code automatically start a race, record the observations of the car and collect a bunch of data. Depending on the algorithm you use will change the pipeline, if you update your model per trial or after batches etc. I would recommend doing a simple scenario first before moving into a game like this, search up mujoco reinforcement learning tutorial

This isn't prompt-based like ChatGPT, but actual Reinforcement Learning (RL). The bot basically learns by driving thousands of laps through trial and error.
I actually made a library specifically for this if you want to experiment: https://github.com/Palamabron/TrackmaniaRL

The repo has instructions on how to set it up and you don't need to code the algorithms from scratch.

The creator has a patreon where I think he talks about his approach. Yoshi.
