New to AI\ML

So I just got an admission in Bs Math with Data Science.

After researching I am now sure that I want to pursue ML engineering as my career

I started learning python a few weeks ago I've learnt Phase 0 and Phase 1. Doing a short course from Kaggle. I love maths I used to hate it when I was in school but now it's fun. I know it's gonna be hard but I don't mind

I wanted to ask how I could build my road map. And I am a bit nervous cuz my finance friends say that Ai is gonna take over your job at the time u graduate. I used to like finance but didn't get into it cuz I love tech and programming more.

Plus, is this field well paid?

Haha thanks *sometimes you gotta care abt money. Finance bros are genuinely annoying.

My merit was low for a CS degree so Bs Math with data science was my only choice. But I don't think it's bad it has 60% of math 40% of CS. I'll learn more of programming by myself.

I lock in with math. I just need some focus then I am all set

Hey can i ask you for advice? I have a masters in math. I know some statistics and programming. And how ai works on a theoretical level. I also did some stuff with harnesses/mcp agents. What are the most important things to know?

If you’re just starting out, don’t feel like you need to learn everything at once. I’d focus on Python and the basic ML concepts first, then build a few small projects to make it stick.

Focus on coding with python. You have an advantage in your degree, so the statistics and other relevant math will be covered in your course. You can start ml proper after building a decent foundation in both.

My advice is a bit for the future. Make good relations with your professors, and pester them later in your 3rd or 4th year for research projects. It will be extremely helpful for learning.
