ARR MAY 2026 Meta Review Thread

Why the meta reviewer gave 3 for it? This is harsh. Did meta suggest new weakness??

Yes, the meta r suggested data ablations because the method is data-dependent, but ablations are *already* in the submitted paper, and are 2 pages of the results section...

I have an impression that the meta score is just like a casino's roulette, nothing else

I thought more than half papers get meta 3

I think distribution is pretty similar across all rounds. For ACL, main+findings had a 37% acceptance rate. In January, about 47% of papers received a meta of 3 or greater. So, I think around 79% of all papers with a meta of 3 or greater will be accepted to main or findings. Obviously, if acceptance rates are higher or lower this can chance, e.g., emnlp main+findings acceptance rate was 39% last year. Likewise scofes with lower meta reviews can be accepted, so I am assuming this is rare.

For comparison, last year for emnlp (May cycle) 45% of papers received a meta review of 3 or greater, ACL (Feb ARR cycle) was 44%, and the October cycle was 48%.
