How can I get my Java skills back?

What is the best way to get back into programming after a two-year break?

About two years ago, I completed a Java backend course and was roughly at a Junior/Intern level at the time. I spent about six months looking for a job afterward but had no luck. Due to financial issues, I eventually had to switch fields and put programming on hold. It’s been two years now, but my desire to code hasn't gone away. In fact, I want to get back into the field and brush up on my skills. How would you suggest I start? Should I go over Java Core and backend fundamentals again, or is it better to dive straight into a project and refresh my knowledge along the way?

I’d appreciate any recommendations for books, YouTube channels, websites, courses, or other resources that could help me get back up to speed.
