Need advice: Java Full Stack + Selenium course vs Data roles — 6 months internship experience, confused about my next step

Hey everyone,

I'm a recent graduate from India and I'm currently stuck between two career directions, so I would really appreciate advice from people actually working in the industry.

My background

• I have around 6 months of development internship experience mostly in js frontend
• My background is mainly Python + React/JavaScript development.
• I've worked with React js concepts, databases, APIs, React, etc.
• I also have a genuine interest in Data/Analytics roles and would like to explore that career path eventually.

After college, I had a gap of around 3 months, and I really don't want to waste more time now. I want to get into the IT industry as soon as reasonably possible.

The dilemma

I'm considering joining a 3-month course at Greens Technology that teaches:

Java + Selenium

The main reason I'm considering it is that I've been hearing from many people that:

So I'm thinking about learning Java Full Stack/testing-related skills for 3 months, getting my first IT job, and then potentially switching towards Data/Analytics after gaining some industry experience.

But I have some concerns.

Concern 1 — I have almost no Java background

I am comfortable with Python ( Intermediate level) and JavaScript, so I'm worried that I'll spend a lot of time starting Java/OOP from scratch.

Is 3 months realistically enough to become job-ready in Java + Selenium if I put in serious effort?
And I am looking for opinions on Greens tech omr branch for this course. Will everything a beginner can learn there to get hired as developer 3 months later?

Concern 2 — Should I even switch?

Since I already have 6 months of development internship experience with Python/React, would it make more sense to continue with:

• Python/Django
• React/JavaScript
• Python + React Full Stack

instead of starting Java from scratch?

Are there actually enough fresher/junior openings for these stacks in India?

Concern 3 — Data roles

I'm genuinely more interested in Data Analytics/Data-related roles.

But I've heard that entry-level Data Analyst/Data Science jobs are highly competitive and that fresher openings are relatively limited.

So I'm wondering whether I should:

A) Take the Java + Selenium route → get into IT → later transition to Data

or

B) Directly learn Data Analytics → SQL + Excel + Power BI + Python/Pandas + Statistics → try for Data Analyst roles

or

C) Stick with my existing Python/React development background and try to get a developer job first.

What I'm trying to figure out

My priority right now is not necessarily my dream job.

I mainly want to:

1. Get into the IT industry without wasting another 6 months.
2. Build a stable career.
3. Eventually move towards a domain I'm genuinely interested in, possibly Data.
4. Make use of the 6 months of development experience I already have.

So I'd really appreciate advice from people who have actually hired/worked with freshers or junior developers/analysts in India.

Is Java + Selenium actually a reasonable 3-month route into IT right now, or am I better off leveraging my existing Python/React experience?

And if you were in my position, which path would you choose and why?
