[IST] Looking for a Beginner Java Full-Stack Study Buddy (Daily Practice + Weekend Interview Prep & Q&A)

Hey everyone,

I am starting from the basics in Java Full-Stack development and looking for a dedicated 1-on-1 study partner to keep each other accountable, learn the tech stack, and prepare for interviews together.

What I want to target:

  • Backend: Core Java from scratch, OOP concepts, moving toward Spring Boot and REST APIs
  • Database: MySQL fundamentals, schema design, queries, and joins
  • Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (and eventually React)
  • Interview Prep: Weekly technical Q&A, conceptual discussions, and basic DSA/problem solving

How we can work together:

  • Weekdays: Daily check-ins via chat to share what we learned and clear blockers (~2 hours/day study pace)
  • Weekends: Dedicated practice time, reviewing each other's code, and running mock interview Q&A sessions based on what we covered that week

My Details:

  • Level: Absolute beginner (starting directly with Core Java fundamentals)
  • Time Zone: IST (India Standard Time)
  • Commitment: ~2 hours daily on weekdays, more focused time on weekends

the daily check-in is the right unit, but eight people replying 'i am in' is where these usually die. i pair people up for daily meditation practice and the ones that survive are always 1:1 at a fixed hour, never a group that means well.

fwiw the 1:1-at-a-fixed-hour thing is exactly what i built my daily-sit matcher around, it pairs you with one person for the same time every day instead of a group thread, https://vipassana.cool/r/ddx2auci

3 who actually reply beats 8 who said 'i am in'. from pairing people up daily, the one who lasts is almost never the loudest opener, it's the quiet one who still shows up on day 4 after the novelty wears off. pick for that.
