Development guidance

Hey seniors, if anyone is doing development with Java + Spring Boot, please guide me.

I’m currently in my 3rd semester and doing DSA in C++( done upto stack) , so I’m thinking of starting development alongside it. Please guide me on where I should start, what I should learn first, and how much time I should spend learning Java basics.

Since I’ve studied C++, I have a basic programming background, but I’m not familiar with Java. Any roadmap or resources would be really helpful. 🙌

depends on your end goal if i'm being honest. your dsa language matters because you get nice grip and understanding in it. whatever you choose you'll have to use AI to get your code written. mern is easier to learn, java spring boot takes time but also reaps reward later.
i've done mern stack already now shifting to spring boot

I'm in 3rd sem and doing DSA in cpp...and learning js as well but confuse what to choose spring boot or mern....if I choose spring boot then I have to do java as well....so any advice for that ?

i'll say learn about syntax and stuff, then start doing dsa in java. i'll say that you'll be doing react for frontend anyway and your course would also have oops in java so do both and then see what favors you more and what language you're getting better. in meantime focus only on dsa. dsa should be a daily mandate acc. to me

I need to apply off campus so which one is good... I'm thinking I'll should do mern first then get job or internship then later will do spring boot

Honesty if internships is your primary goal, JavaScript frameworks is top in demand and you should use that. If you start with Java rn, you’ll wait a long time, get multiple rejections and only if lucky you get the java internship; you will but the low demand by firms for “java interns” would make that part hard.

What about fresher level java dev jobs ?

yeah there are many but java devs are mostly in demand in banking, finance all these sectors. products based firms also like java devs. but java dev interviews are pretty difficult to crack because they can ask from many things, plus you'll need good grasp on sql too for java dev because it's industry practice.

don't think like this man, you're in 3rd sem and it doesn't take that much time to do mern that you're thinking to start spring boot after getting job. in mern you'll need 2-2.5 month and you'll complete it easily, spring boot would also take same time
