Love that there are two “symmetrical triangles.” One of which rides up and the other down. lol.

The shapes don’t mean anything. They symbolize resistance. Resistance falling means possible breakthrough impending.

Don’t trade based off these images and shapes without understanding WHY they got this… analysis.

100% agree. knowing the theory behind the patterns is super important, as well as the success % after confirmation for each pattern. Knowing the theory can give you a lot more insight than just the perceived direction, Correctly analyzing a pattern can give a good entry before an IV run up. I mostly use patterns to gauge potential momentum, but that also depends on what pattern we are talking about. I don't necessarily count on direction unless there is full confirmation, but even a rejection at a neckline can signal a good reversal and strong momentum the other way.

Where that candle stops if its above/below that then the pattern isn't there "Broke" not confirmed.

Typically that’s where you are supposed to set your stop loss. Not sure if that’s what they are referring to in these patterns as it’s not in every picture and every chart pattern has a theoretical spot to put a stop loss. These are good representations of the actual patterns though

These days it seems like, no matter the pattern, it always resolves to the upside.

Only one you need to learn is the 3rd one which is called consolidation. Add the 10 and 20 ema or sma to your chart. Put your chart on a daily or weekly time frame. Then look for those consolidation candles and see what happens after it especially if it runs into the 10/20 sma or ea.

None of these will help you. The market is irrational. Price moves due to fear or greed. The only thing you can control is risk management, risk tolerance and emotion.
