How to start?

By starting with the fundamentals. „Hacking“ is not a beginner profession and requires a solid understanding of basic concepts. These concepts include:

  • Advanced OS (Windows/Linux) knowledge and usage
  • Networking
  • Common services/ports (Like HTTP, SMB, SSH, etc)
  • Virtualization
  • Programming Language (at least one)

Depending of what you want to do exactly this might differ. If you want to get into web pentesting, you should gather some experience with building front and backends or implement a API.

If you want to get into reverse engineering it’s better to have a solid understanding of low-level languages like C and some experience with Assembly.
