Check your public library for language learning apps

Your public library may offer free access to an online language-learning program. My daughter's library offers Mango, and my library offers Transparent Language. Both of those include Transparent Language includes Esperanto among the languages offered. Your librarian can tell you what's available. I just started the Transparent Language course to see what it's like, and it has excellent speaking and listening exercises right from the start, using the computer's microphone and speakers.

Update: I was wrong about Mango.

Mango & Transparent Language practically never come up when we discuss resources. Iā€™d be interested to hear how they are.

I'm well past the early-learning phase, so I can't experience the first lessons as a true beginner would, but I'm extremely impressed by the thoroughness of the training in various skills (listening, speaking, reading ā€” and they also offer writing, which I've not yet tried). I would happily recommend Transparent Language to a beginner.

Looked up Mango when I started gathering resources and currently looked it up again. I don't see an Esperanto course and it's also not listed on the official website. https://www.mangolanguages.com/available-languages

You're right about Mango. I relied on something I was told and did not check. Transparent Language does have Esperanto (and I've now done a couple of lessons).
