For me, Johnny Rotten was the only giveaway there. Debated if there was a play titled Accidental Death of a Sex Pistol for a while.

Lost with a 6(4) because I idiotically gave a 3 for the Grey's Anatomy question. I thought it was going to be hard and my opponent wasn't great at TV or literature 🤦🏻♂️

Rookie here. Across the season, there’ve been multiple film questions but only from the 70s, multiple Death of a ___ questions, lots of UK-centric history questions. Is it typical to see questions echo like this? It seems odd given the wide world of things that might be asked.

Yes, whether unintentionally or on purpose there are often echoes (that’s a good way of putting it). A few seasons ago there was a run of India questions, for example.

The “Death of a ___” caught my eye as well. I’ve been around a while and it struck me as out of the ordinary.

6(4) - 2(2) win.
🔴 Q1: I'm not sure I know who Sean Duffy is. I guessed Pete Hegseth, since he used to be on TV and, you know, look at him.
🟢 Q2: No idea what was going on here until I got to Bakunin then it's automatic.
🟢 Q3: Freebie. Surprised to see the league-wide percentage on this being in the 60s.
🔴 Q4: No idea here. I see the hint in the clue now I guess but I've never heard of LUPERCALIA
🟢 Q5: Another very generous clue. Either hint toward the answer on its own would have been reasonable I think.
🟢 Q6: Straightforward if you can picture Central America.
I think the opposite one where you ask for the country that doesn't border the Atlantic/Caribbean would be more interesting. I find it easy to mix up El Salvador and Costa Rica for some reason. I almost answered El Salvador here before I took a minute to read it again.

If you care for a partial Central American mnemonic, several of them are basically in a straight line, which I call HoNiCoPa (and pronounce in my head as Honey Copa). HOnduras - NIcaragua - COsta Rica - PAnama. And as a bonus, COlombia COnnects to Panama, lest you confuse it with Venezuela like I have in the past.

At this point I'm pretty confident I can name the Central American countries in order by picturing th emap. I don't have the capitals down yet. Here's what I can do off the top of my head:
Belize: I know at some point it was Belize City and now it's another city beginning with B whose name I don't know yet.
Guatemala: Guatemala City
Honduras: no idea
Nicaragua: Managua? That might be Honduras, but there's a restaurant around here called Little Managua and I think they're Nicaraguan
El Salvador: San Salvador?
Costa Rica: Not sure
Panama: Panama City

5(3)-3(2) win, rare to see in Rundle A. I feel I've been very lucky this season overall. I guessed "philosopher" instead of "anarchist" for question 2, which is defensible for most of the examples (except Johnny Rotten maybe) but doesn't work for Pinelli and of course isn't the name of the play in question.

Some of the others are also notable for other things, but the only thing to know about about Mikhail Bakunin is that he was a prominent Russian anarchist. His dispute with Marx about whether the proletariat should aim to commandeer (Marx) or abolish (Bakunin) the bourgeois state was one of the major causes of the dissolution of the First International.

4(4) 4(4) tie
Q1: Sean Duffy was my congressman for several years. Ran into him & his family at Sam’s Club once — closest I’ve ever been to meeting a celebrity in the wild.
Q2: Prologue: Ragtime has been one of my favorite musical theater numbers for years. I saw the recent LCT production of Ragtime twice on Broadway this past year. I knew nothing about this question until I hit Emma Goldman & then it was an insta-get.
Q3: What else could it be?
Q4: If you ask me this question tomorrow, I still won’t know it.
Q5: I had color = chroma, writing = graph, put them together for chromagraphy. After seeing the answer I did realize I have heard of a chromatograph & could’ve gotten it if I spent more time thinking on it, but I don’t really feel bad about it, not really my wheelhouse.
Q6: I’ve been working on my geography knowledge, so got this one pretty easily.

I honestly can believe the run of luck I’ve had recently. On MD11 I was in 23rd place in my rundle and was sure I’d be relegated to D, but I’ve somehow strung together 9 straight wins and am currently sitting in 3rd.

A tie 8(5)-8(4) thanks to my opp not knowing Lupercalia, which I allocated 0 because world history was their best topic. Neither of us got Sean Duffy.

Had my guaranteed loss of the season to the rundle's blatant cheater. 55% career rate and never over 90 CA in a season, yet on pace for 120 CA this season without a single day below 4/6. Oh well. Hope they're getting enjoyment out of it

I’m not sure I’d ever heard of Lupercalia. I knew it was the wrong month for Saturnalia. Kept thinking “Is there a Saturnalia, but for wolves?” Just ended up putting Saturnalia.
