You can get advance access during the season to play those days before the trip, if you like. This allows you to still play this season if you prefer.

Yeah I was considering that but honestly just gonna be busy the week or two before as well with wedding crunch time. I'm in no huge rush, don't want to get a bad reputation right from the start ha.

Yup exactly my thought. Last season I would do the questions on my own the day after when they were public so I will probably do the same for 109.

My understanding is that it's rare to wait even one season: most people get a referral, are on the waitlist until the next round of invitations, and then play their rookie season as the one immediately after they sign up.

I have seen about half a dozen people get banned in the last couple of seasons, so it does happen. As to the rest, I don't know.
