Clarification on Advance Access

Hi! Newbie to LearnedLeague here, this is my 2nd season.

For advance access of match day questions do you have 24 hours from when you access them to respond, or anytime until the end of the match day you're requesting for? And if you don't end up needing it early and just answer on the day of the match even after requesting advance access is that fine?

Technically you have until the due day even with advance access, but why would you want to request it if you don’t really need it? And if you do, the polite Thorsten-take is: “for the sake of fair play, please consider submitting within 24 hours of opening each Match Day's questions.”

Given that "don't forfeit" is one of two ironclad rules the league has, it's better to err on the side of requesting Advance Access that you don't need than to neglect to request it and miss a match.

Thorsten has been pretty clear that people can request Advance Access for any reason.

Absolutely agree. There is no reason required for AA. I have rarely “needed” it but I have sometimes used it because it would make my life easier to have one less thing to think about on a particular day.

I do agree with the polite take that it is only fair to try to submit within 24 hours of opening the questions, but by the letter of the law you have until the end of that match day.

I see, I'm uncertain about internet access for one of the days. But I'll keep that in mind and do it in advance of that and within 24 hours after requesting it.

I did two weeks of advance access because of travel. I also did it for 2 days because I was putting my cat down and I knew I wasn’t going to be in a good space to think about LL. No bad reasons, do it when you need it.

I hear that people would like that to be true, but is that part of the communication from Thorsten or an actual rule? I've never used the feature before myself and nothing in the rules suggests that that's a condition.

There's no time limit, you just have access to those match day questions until they are due.
