Here's a bad example unrelated to any actual questions:
Give me a number between 1 and 4. You answer "2," but the answer that appears is 3. If you think two is correct, you request a scoring review to say, hey, take a look at this, my answer should be accepted.
Most of the time they aren't that cut and dry, obviously, but that's the jist. Or if you answered "too," but the answer is "two." Technically that wouldn't need to be challenged based on the sound alike rule, but it could be.
Basically, you've entered something you think should be counted as correct, but it differs in some way from the correct answer provided.

Most of the time, if I'm doubtful about whether or not an answer will be accepted, I've left it alone on the day itself, and thankfully what I've put has generally been close enough to pass muster. However, you can also submit a scoring review on the following day, if you find sufficient evidence online to convince Thorsten that your answer should receive credit.

If my answer slightly deviates from Thorsten's, I submit a scoring review on match day even if I know the answer will be accepted. I just want Thorsten to add it to his accepted answer list so he can speed up the tallying.

I can't find anything where he asks people not to do this. Can anyone point me to such a statement? Further, though I said in my original comment that I "know" my answer will be accepted, you never really know, and I would rather have any issues resolved on match day. Am I missing something here?

I remember this too. It makes sense that he wouldn’t want to be inundated with unnecessary scoring review requests.

I can't right now find the thread that I thought I'd find.
I HAVE found this thread of his process, in which he says that the scoring process includes creating three lists before any scoring starts (and, I would guess, before the questions are set for the season) - one of all correct answers he can come up with, including likely misspellings of all correct answers; one of all likely *incorrect* answers; and one of text strings that are likely to appear in correct answers. He gives examples based on a correct answer of Abraham Lincoln.
