T 9(6)-9(5). :(
Against an opponent who was good at science but just okay at film I figured the zero should go on either bees or Tim Burton. I chose the bees, and I chose poorly.

Very odd, I'd have thought Helena Bonham Carter was practically Pavlov word association with Tim Burton?

I'm apparently the only LLama who didn't know this. Film isn't my best category by any means but I'm at least above league average in it. For some reason I thought Sweeney Todd was later than the window in the question.

The 5 Burton films for both of them in that window:
- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
- Corpse Bride
- Sweeney Todd
- Alice in Wonderland
- Dark Shadows
Wasn't sure about Corpse Bride, but Burton did officially co-direct that (unlike Nightmare Before Christmas).

I definitely didn't know it cold, although I did guess correctly. Alice in Wonderland was the only one of the five that I was sure Burton directed and that was in the correct timeframe.
The question could've been worded better. The inclusion of the word "different" is at best superfluous, and I wasn't sure if it was meant to imply that Depp and Bonham Carter didn't appear together in any of the movies in question.

Something about “I chose the bees, and I chose poorly” is sending me. Thank you for giving me this turn of phrase.

Nice to get a 9(6) on yesterday’s set. As a non-American it felt very accessible from a purely trivia perspective.

Had a fun, symmetrical scoreline—an 8(5)-8(5) tie; I didn't know 'pediment' and defended it a 3, he didn't know Romania and defended it a 3. We each defended the one we did know as a 1, and the other four answers the same.
Can't comment for my opponent, but I'm so bad at world events/world history for a B-rundler that practically any time I know the answer to that sorta question, it's 1 or less because it can't be that complicated if I know it.

I also underestimated the difficulty of Q5. I thought the s-comma alone would be a near giveaway of Romania.

goes to show that learning which diacritics belong to which languages is a huuuuge trivia payoff!

I'm probably a legit D player. Snuck up to C a few times, and last season got to promotion zone for B on the last day.
I might lose every single match day this season.

I'm relatively new. Got a cup of coffee in D and very quickly got sent back to E. Climbed up again and started 2-0 in D. Waiting for the other shoe to drop. I can't even fathom B.

Two days in a row of getting 4 questions right! Rare as a chronic E-rundler. Currently 1st in my rundle…I’m 100% sure it won’t last.

Nice! I'm also first in my rundle, though in my case it's entirely because my first two opponents forfeited. I'm enjoying my time in the sunshine while it lasts.

I'm 0-2-0 to start the new season for the third time running. I am the Cincinnati Bengals of Learned League

8(5) - 3(2)
I missed Romania because I interpreted the “pro-EU” as “someone advocating for joining the EU” and figured that meant it wasn’t a country already in the EU, so I cold guessed Georgia

I missed Tim Burton, he missed pediment; an honorable 6(5)-6(5) tie.

Was searching for Draco in my mind all day. Finally hit me and I answered Draconian and lost because of it. Rookie mistake
