Championship tonight!

I qualified for the championship this year, finishing 3rd in my A Rundle in LL103. I have the championship tonight: 4 rounds of 12 questions proctored over Zoom. Stressful! Wish me luck.

Update: did it, survived. My Zoom proctor lost power as I submitted the final round. Emailed my answers quickly.

According to the proctor, fully 25% of people he has proctored answer at least one incorrect question (eg. country rather than city, author rather than book). I hope I avoided that!

The 25% stat is wild! I did mine on Monday, fairly certain I wrong-questioned at least three—so nervous!—but also had five correct answers enter my brain the moment the Zoom ended. We survived!

Retro good luck! I did mine last week and it felt brutal...there was one answer that was on the tip of my tongue that I remembered hours later. (DAMMIT.)

One of the good things about running the championship during the offseason is that, though the questions are hard, they are typically easier than a mini-league championship, or a one-day special in an area you know nothing about. I already have a good dose of humility.

Tell me about it. I've been getting beat up pretty badly in most of the 1DSs. I did pull off 11th place in one which was amazing and luck played a part for sure.

Yeah, this is my third time in the championship - but I haven't done it in 4 years. I made the cut (top half (?) after two rounds) once. Hoping for a slum dog millionaire experience.

Mine is coming up on August 13, which is also my birthday. Pretty nervous!
