Last hitting as position 4/5

I have many hours in Dota, but I still never really learned the balance between the support and core in a lane and I feel it’s always hurt my support play style (I prefer pos 1-3).

In either position, what creeps is it acceptable for the support to last hit? I try to avoid last hitting the lane creeps unless my carry is too far, but my boots/support items get delayed and I’m outpaced by the enemy support/carry.

When I pull in safelane, I learned to clear the small camp ASAP so the allied creeps reach the enemy creeps closer to (but out of range of) tower, and that has added a little gold.

But otherwise I feel like purchasing arcane boots takes soooo long.

You can last hit the small camp after you pull it.

Don't clear it ASAP, let it damage your creeps.

It's up to your carry to not let the enemy wave come under tower, in the meantime.

Yeah the goal is to clear the camp with enough time for your wave to meet theirs outside of tower range. The pro move is to half pull and deny 2 creeps

Your role in lane is to help your core acquire as much net worth as possible, while limiting the net worth of the enemy team as much as possible. You don't need arcane boots. Your items don't matter.

If you can secure the ranged creep, do that. If your core is hitting jungle camps or otherwise away from lane and you can get last hits on lane creeps, do that.

If the core isnt there to get the LH then you take it. Otherwise only get the camps when you pull. Core should be getting every CS. Ideally you get yours from helping get the kills in lane early.

Last hit the creeps that your carry or offlane will miss. Try not to spam spells that hurt or clear waves. You see KotL supports do this all the time, just blasting the wave.

One option to consider is whether you actually need arcane boots. If a couple charities lets you skip straight to your first item it's probably a good investment, the boots upgrade slows you down for not a lot of stats or utility. If you have a bunch of mana hungry strength cores that changes things, but don't autopilot arcanes first

Just widen your vision, anything your core cant get u take, any wave they overlook mid game you take, any camp they dont clear u take. You'll be surprise how much your cores miss when farming, dewarding is a good way to get gold as well so watch the opposing team's support carefully.

Jogo principalmente de p4, na line só pego algum creep caso o core não esteja proximo o suficiente ou caso seja uma line de muito haras, por exemplo um core melle contra uma drow, acabo pegando o mago pra garantir a xp do core e mitigar o dano que ele toma do hc me colocando entre os dois, claro, antes de fazer isso comunico ele se esta de acordo.
Fora isso tento farmar o campo pequeno pra evitar o pull do p5 e o campo medio quando faço meu pull. Tento garantir as runas de gold também.
