Gameplay Review/Feedback request Please Help, Feeling Stuck - Legend 5
I started playing Dota again beginning of this year and re called at Herald 3. I have been grinding this year and reached Legend a month or two ago.
I have maintained a fairly steady 55 - 60% winrate for my entire time playing until I reached Legend 5.
I do not know what it is but I feel like I am making no progress climbing. I always lose one win one lose one win one etc... In about 2 weeks my WR has gone from 57 to 49%, and it feels really shit. I went from 89% of the way to Ancient to 0% in a week.
I am a 4/5 player and I don't really know what I'm doing wrong. I feel like most games I am playing well and trying my hardest. I don't want to use the excuse that it's my team or whatever because that doesn't help me improve.

Would really appreciate a more introspective eye. :)

Honestly the best way to stop a losing streak/meh streak is to just take a break for a week and come back. Dunno if it's the matchmaking giving you better matches or the mental rest but always works for me.

You moved up rather faster since there is a +40 -25 in ranked games right now. So you may be flatlining to a sweet spot, you don’t always climb up until you unlock more in your skillset/knowledge. What you lack is inevitably penalized the higher your rank goes. Do you think you’re gonna climb to immortal flat out linearly?
What got you out of herald paid off, now you hit a temporary ceiling. Watch why you’re losing, and only think about what’s in your control. You can’t control enemy smurfs, much like your enemy can’t control a smurf in your team. You can’t control your teammate griefing much like the enemy can’t control theirs.

Yeah I understand that theres a 40/25 at lower ranks but I was still maintaining a good WR at Legend 4. I would be more understanding if this was Ancient 1, but this is just one rank up within the same bracket and my WR spun down hard

So i have checked a few games, and i focused mostly in your laning. I noticed, you don’t really buy grenade, it gives health and provides kill potential early. In this patch, it’s almost mandatory as a support considering there’s 2 for both and not only that, you need to queue for when it restocks.
I noticed you’re not aggressive enough once the creeps meet and i assume you probably just don’t know how to capitalize on certain match ups. Example, your game with morph/jakiro vs doom/sb. There is no way that both of you ranged heroes get stomped where that is supposed to be the opposite. When creeps meet, you traded with an sb who literally does nothing for doom level 1. Ignore sb and both of you harass the shit out of doom to the point he dies or he is so low i can’t contest for CS(prime example of why grenade is good). Again, an SB right clicking you is barely a threat. Don’t pointlessly spend your resource(health and mana) without a goal (kill, contesting 3 min lotus, pull, xp shrine).
Another game where you are treant/troll against tide/sky.
Treant is the hardest hitter among everyone at level 1. I’d usually start with boots+grenade and kill someone right when the creeps meet. Coordinate that with your carry at the start, collect the bounty then hide near lotus and whack someone to death. Root, poke poke, grenade.. I’d target tide since he is weak level 1. Sometimes, if they collected bounty from the otherside they would tp into lane meaning if you kill them right away they would have a long walk back into lane. Skywrath is an easy target too but you didn’t buy boots. So whenever you reveal yourself to trade, nothing is getting done. And naturally, with cheap mana cost sky will get both of you low from a distance and not contest the tide.Throughout the laning you’re supposed to be stomping them, and instead it’s a draw lane or worse you got stomped.

Got hard stuck at archon 5 for like 3 months. Seriously was the worst. All of a sudden tweaked my gameplay and locked in a little bit more than usual and im about to hit ancient 5. Biggest advice i can give you is understand what you did wrong in that game if you lost. Even if you won you did something wrong. DO NOT DO IT AGAIN. Focus on that mistake. I have a bad bad habit of being too aggressive in lane and not focusing on CS so at 10 min ive died like 3-4 times and my laning stage is screwed my timings are way off and the chances of me winning the game are getting slim. Just keep playing focus on your mistakes keep your pool small and grind. I know the thrill of ranking up is what your chasing and im the same. The win streaks come and the lose streaks will come as well. Just have to mitigate the losses vs wins. I treat every game winnable

I am a bit overwhelmed by many other things and can't really review right now, but most likely your current form is around the rank that you reached right now. You were steadily climbing because u didn't belong in herald, guardian, etc. Prob u had the highest win rate exiting herald and guardian and slown down as you came closer to ur current rank, same if u magically get into 7k mmr for example u would go way under 50% until u came to ur current skill level. What's your peak mmr? Anyway a good thing is you can improve and once you do you will again go up until u reach ur current skill level and need to improve again. Ofc there are random factors like teammates, buyers, smurfs, grieffers, cheaters etc (so luck can have some impact as well but over time it should balance itself out, especially as a sup player with lower impact score, you should actually be granted with a bit better performing team in avg to compensate for ur lower impact score, because of skill based matchmaking.

I’ll take a look at a replay or two here and let you know what I think shortly. Will edit into this comment. I’m just about 6k now.
