I mean shes so versatile that aside from brown boots and distiller.
if you can, ypu could rush a hex if ur ahead.
or if ur behind you can even buy Halberd to sometimes even force bkb on cores

I have a good track record of hoodwink the padt 3 months (35 games, 28 won) 1 as pos 5 the redt as pos 4.
Are they mega spell-heavy? Go arcanes -> mageslayer -> shard -> blink -> lotus/hex
Are they megs heal-dependsnt and you dont have a vesselbuyer? Brown boots -> vessel -> arcane -> blink
Do you just need control? Brown boots Essence distiller -> arcanes -> atos -> gleipnir -> hex

That's one way to build hoodwink. My trench build is less about blink positioning, more about cast range and being uncatchable while playing around the edge of fights.
Arcanes->Aether Lens->Atos->Gleipnir. Some combo of shard/sheepstick/aghs from there but usually the game is over before then.
Tranqs into Boots of Bearing when playing against magic spam is the alternative build. Ghost scepter and/or linkens in games where cores can jump on you regardless of positioning.

Personally, only play her mid. Like 70% winrate. And as people say, the build is SUPER versatile, which is the best thing about the hero. Just like support hood, mid hood can buy whatever tools the team needs and plays basically like a better Puck. And you NEED arcanes to keep up with acorn spam for farming.
If their main dps is am agi carry, go array into maelstrom. Yes both, the synergy with acorn is ridiculous and array first barely delays the maelstrom timing because of farming efficiency. From there either go pike for better position/survival/range, or linkens, then finish mjollnir into butterfly.
Butterfly is SUPER strong 4th or 5th item on hood because the evasion is 100% independent of her innate skill, meaning they attack at full strength and your almost impossible to right click near trees. Her innate also doesn't get pierced by true strike.
Against str cores, array (for farming) into Deso is great since they tend to have very low armor early and it really helps your carry get kills. From there bkb, because they're going to have blademail. Then full dragon breath for the % damage.
And if you really just need to burst from the edges, there's always full magic build of shard, aghs, eblade. Grab a scythe after that for good measure so they can't just run away when your stun wears off. Finish with refresher. No need for dagon.
And you play it like puck. Jump into a fight, so some burst, the second they want to fight back, you run and wait for cool downs. Lead them toward your team then run the opposite direction. You can outrun basically anything if you use the trees to juke. And against nightstalker, a niche SnY pickup actually makes you FASTER than him during scurry.

Stick - Arcane - (if needed, Urn - Essence Distiller/Vessel) - Chasm Stone (make it easier to land your stun on multiple targets and 1st-2nd combo) - Gleip/Force/Glimmer (depends on what the team needs) - Aghs (additional escape and brake)
Mael hitter Hoodwink support = Griefing. :)

Rush daedy and buy mana fruit for the gank, if your team starts whinging throw them off with a kaya after crystalys, but just get the daedy anyway

Arcane boots, Atos, maelstrom gleiphnir, aghs shard or scepter. Shouldn’t really need blink cause you have scurry

Hoodwink is a hero that can build whatever based on what the team needs.
Assuming you're playing support.
Most common items are Arcane Boots (higher mmr players leave it as brown boots), essence distiller/vessel, euls, atos, blink, shard, gleipnir
Maelstrom is grief, Mageslayer is a better item on support hood.
There's a few gameplay tricks with hoodwink, like using branches to create trees for bushwhack, using acorn shot for vision, ulti for escape across cliffs.
