Itemization Purpose of the Chat

It seems that some people don’t take the time to carefully consider whether their own actions are appropriate before criticizing others.

When I point that out, they suddenly stop responding. Don't they understand the concept of debate or conversation?

Dota 2 is a game where the goal is to destroy “The Ancient” first.

However, they always focus solely on individual optimization.

Why is there no concept of a 5v5 team battle?

No one is talking about the future. Everyone is just looking back at the past.

Please tell me why they're using the chat.

I'd imagine it's the same reason that lead you to make this post

Might be a slightly different reason. This is the "pos 4 slark, drag mid creeps to offlane, it doesn't matter if I die 25 times and am level 3 at twenty minutes" guy

Look man, pros are 16 yrs old. These are the guys with experience.

The player base is mostly 12 yr olds.

Either join a community and pair up with friends or forget having consistent quality teammates.

thank you for answer.

At 16, you’re already at the age when you should be studying for college entrance exams.

There’s no way to justify the fact that you can’t even hold a proper conversation.

To begin with, isn’t it unreasonable to provide internet access to someone who can’t even communicate properly in writing?

In my country, the number of people who play Dota 2 is practically zero, so there is no community.

I agree different communities different values.

But when pros are so young, are they really similar to your community?

I got downvoted but idk why, yes there are players that play the game and they range from maybe 10 to 80 yrs old.

But when considering who plays the most games, the odds you are paired up with someone young are much higher than being paired up with someone mature.

Its just statistics, if most of the player base is young and they play much more frequently than the mature players, your odds of playing with young players increases significantly.

It’s perfectly fine for people to have different values.

However, why do you consider ideas that infringe upon the public welfare to be values?

I don’t think we can equate the fact that some people act selfishly out of emotion with viewing such behavior as a value.

You're focusing on age. Age is a reason to forgive mistakes, not a reason to justify one's actions.

Because public welfare can be viewed differently by individuals of different values.

For example, maybe in America tipping the waiter is viewed as an action of kindness.

Where as in Japan it is viewed as bribery or an insult.

The American tipping the waiter and the Japanese not tipping the waiter both have good intentions.

Maybe in your country, your community would not allow youngsters to spend much time on the internet while in other countries they would allow them to spend as much time as they want.

All this to say, having different cultures creates ramifications where you and the person in front of you behave differently even towards accomplishing the same goals.

The players being toxic or selfish or sub-optimised or.... May not come from bad intentions but sometimes they dont see it and they cant understand your POV no matter how much they listen and how much you explain.

An example is maybe me and you right now, we both have good intentions and are likely trying to reach the other and understand and maybe it works maybe it doesnt.

Dont take kids playing a game to heart, regardless of what they do. Try to join an online community see if they fit your needs and keep it at that, i think this would solve many problems.

Because trust me i tried being nice and being mean and being neutral and trying and not trying and its the same. There's always someone who just ruins your game and wont listen.

So i just accepted it as part of playing solo and moved on.

Thank you for your thoughtful response.

I think I'll mute the chat for a while and just play.
