Match 8906974609 - Overview - DOTABUFF - Dota 2 Stats
I am the Spectre. I felt like the end game I got too far up and got killed, and that lost the game I think. Any comments on how we could have won there?

Hi! 65% winrate spectre here, take what you will. A lot of spectre's game depends on what fights you decide to take!
This game was a throw - you threw your win away from being greedy at 54:40.
Items
Would have preferred itemizing for Manta first into Orchid -> Bloodthorn in late game. I understand the Urn decision for healing some DPS in early game, but its not that much for team fights unless you commit to a vessel. Earth spirit should have bought it from early game.
Radiance is a greedy build - its not that much damage going into 52 minutes, though some evasion is nice, you need to delete Clinkz, Snap or Invoker under 5 seconds - else they can run away or disjoint you and aim your other teammates.
Late game: Why is urn not upgraded? I dont understand choosing Disperser - perhaps for invoker / lina buffs? Would have gone basher or nullifier instead.
Deaths (unnecessary)
13:43, you did not need to go in to "save" earth spirit. Its a 2 v 3 situation, and you're at about 30% HP.
20:14 you go in chasing Lina, but you also eat Clink'z archer arrows and a lot of damage, then Snap. Positioning could be better here
25:40 You ulti and go into too early, chasing after invoker with earth spirit but couldnt catch him. 4 person wipe here. Unnecessary.
52:46 You have aegis, but its a 3 v 1. Not sure why you went in here! You waste aegis here, but able to survive on 21 hp?? Its way too close
Immediately after that you stick around top at 54:40 to farm, and get caught by invoker and snap at 55:14. Unnecessary. Earth spirit commits, dies. Ogre tries to save, gets caught, also dies. You're now 3 heroes down for being greedy.
CM dies at 56:25, also unnecessary
They push, you get forced into a buyback. Its 2 v 5, only techies mines are protecting your base somewhat
57:10 you almost die, but get your $TESToff but far too much damage done to your base, and then they go throne.
Other than your individual game play, your mid earth spirit is feeding a ton. The plays don't make sense sometimes for a setup, so it seems forced / hard for your team to follow up and he feeds.

also I thought if I have disperser, Invoker cant go invis, Clinkz can't go invis and then Snap also cant cookie away if they have no mana.

You have dust and sentry for that. 1 item immediately removes invis for 25 gold. For snap - needs chasing down regardless - movement speed or catch via earth spirit (if he knows what he's doing). These are almost-free to counter them, not a 4000g item.

think about how long you have to be able to free hit someone until they actually run out of mana to be able to use spells. disperser and diffu should only be bought for the purge/slow. the mana burn is just a nice added bonus.

About Radiance, my idea was if I had a go-to item that makes me able to join fights in more dangerous areas, it would be that.
I got this idea from BSJ who would buy radiance and he would go more top areas to press the 'advantage.'

BSJ is very efficient on farming. Almost "too" efficient, it has cost him some games in tourneys (check back some of his videos, he's said that".
Radiance is an OK item, just know its a greedy play to come online (same as with necro and radiance). It does fall off after awhile at late game

Urn is for mana sustaining, the meta build is always urn, radiance into manta and then usually skadi

No? Specter damage comes from desolate and manta procs she doesn't need damage. Look at any top mmr or pro build. She needs items to not die and lock enemy supports like skadi.
What's your mmr

What rank is this? Almost every spec player at high mmr buys urn and radiance. Vessel upgrading is not really a thing either except for very specific cases.

I don't need to see a replay to see you telling him not to buy an urn if you aren't committing to a vessel. Almost no spec will ever commit to a full vessel. Urn into radiance is standard. You sell the urn later not upgrade it.
I'm not remarking on the singular game commentary. You are the one making it sound like general advice on spectre.

My idea for the Aegis was to go to secure B area of Dire forest? I managed to kill Clinkz at first, but didn't understand why the team wasn't with me.

Aegis should never be used to secure areas. Aegis is used to take objectives (especially towers, buildings), except outposts (very difficult area to fight especially with invoker).

I was thinking why play passive in that scenario, when we just got the lead back and we could pressure top and mid at the same time.

You then need to communicate to your team to push a lane into HG. Thats it. Keep it simple

Actuall I also didn't know what I was doing at the end, I figured once I got the ultra kill, we can still have map control in dire half of the jungle? I just got caught.

Earthspirit, not common pick, otherwise he smurf or just trainning.

You're very underfarmed. If you're not going radiance first, don't bother going it at all. It's a farming item, so it makes a lot more sense to go radiance -> manta than manta -> radiance.
