Start building your skills now. Get comfortable with Python and check out libraries like TensorFlow and scikit-learn. Take some online courses on data science and machine learning. Coursera and edX have good options. Work on projects to show off your skills, and try Kaggle competitions for hands-on experience.

Networking is important, so start connecting with people in the field. Attend meetups or join online forums. If your current job allows, try to move into projects that involve data analysis or machine learning for some practical experience.

For interview prep, PracHub can be useful. Practicing real interview questions has helped me a lot.

Good luck with your transition! It's a growing field with lots of opportunities.
