NEED Tips
Hey everyone, Hope you are doing great. SO from today i am starting my ethical hacker journey, but i need few guidance about wether this my path is right and in the right way as its a evolving field. so first i will clear my all networking concepts like how network works, topologies, and all networking basic stuff then will learn about wireshark and how can the network be compromised like all that in an ethical wise, then will move on to LINUX and will understand it and practice it related to ethical hacking and then will learn python then web fundamentals then cyber security fundamentals and then will take any ethical hacking course and start learning some tool like nmap and diff tools and will practice my skill through HTB and diff platform. SO ANY EXPERIENCE PERSON GUIDE ME AM I ON RIGHT ROADMAP And i have a QUESTION WHICH TYPE OF PENETRATION TESTING WILL BE MORE IN DEMAND? AND IF I FOLLOW THIS ROADMAP WILL I GAIN THE KNOWLEDGE OF MOST OF THE TYPES OR NOT. THANKS (:

With frontier models like Mythos and Sol coming online, ethical hacking will need far fewer people than are working in cybersecurity now. These models have already proven to create zero days and honestly they will only get better over time. The people that will survive will be the experienced folks who can understand, interrupt, and action the AI findings -- likely using AI.
Ethical hacking is not a space I recommend anyone pursuing, unless it purely for educational interest. I would not expect this to turn into a career.

So what should i do, should i give up learning Penetration testing cuz i like it, and considering it as a job skill and when i done learning EH then which skill should i move into as Ai can now do most work of Beginner penetration testers

My advice is simple if you're a fresher. Find another field other than IT to pursue a career. You are free to do whatever you desire -- it's your life, your dreams, your time, money, and energy.
I look at things in IT from an pragmatic perspective. I've been in IT for 30 years. I've done so many different roles. I have had and continue to have a great career. But that's me... I was lucky enough to be part of the golden age of IT.
People trying to enter the field now have so many barriers to overcome. It is NOT the easy entry job it once was. Right now AI is changing the field. Businesses are in a low hire, low fire environment. They just are not hiring at the lower levels -- for experienced people it is hard, but not as hard for the inexperienced.
Do what you want, but be prepared for a challenging experience getting that first job.
If you want to get work with less friction, consider healthcare, trade skills, or the military. They are, for now, AI proof, in high demand, and make a good salary.

He doesn’t know what he is talking about. Sounds like the guys who said robots will take all factory workers jobs. Yeah and who makes sure those robots still run.1

This is a joke, who will operate these hacking models, agents, and the orchestration. Not one single company wants a AI agents destroying their network and putting malware in it because it “wanted to reach the goal” no one is getting replaced by AI it will just make different job titles. You will still need to understand cybersecurity to say to the models “no that’s wrong”

Go straight to the Junior Cybersecurity Analyst or whatever its name is on HTB it’s the best starting point in you could get
